### Geography
A region of highland plateaus and deep mountain valleys in the north. Large rivers cut through the canyons, creating lush but isolated valleys between the rocky peaks. The terrain is a mix of alpine forests and open highland meadows.
### Weather
Cold year-round at higher altitudes, with mild summers in the valleys. Heavy snowfall in winter and frequent windstorms make travel difficult. In the lower regions, the short summer season brings greenery and wildflowers before the harsh cold returns.
